Maximizing Service-Level-Agreement Revenues in Clustered-based Web Server Systems

چکیده
Cluster-based Web server systems have become a major means to hosting e-commerce sites. In this paper, we link the issue of resource partitioning scheme with the pricing strategy in a Service-Level-Agreement (SLA) and analyze the problem of maximizing the revenues attained in the hosting of a ecommerce site with a SLA contract by optimally partitioning the server resources among all supported service classes. The optimal resource partitioning scheme is derived under the linear pricing strategy by the Lagrangian optimization approach, which has the closed-form solution. The simulation results demonstrate the ability of revenue maximization of the derived optimal resource partitioning scheme in cluster-based Web server systems.

Investigation on Reliability Estimation of Loosely Coupled Software as a Service Execution Using Clustered and Non-Clustered Web Server
Evaluating the reliability of loosely coupled Software as a Service through the paradigm of a cluster-based and non-cluster-based web server is considered to be an important attribute for the service delivery and execution. We proposed a novel method for measuring the reliability of Software as a Service execution through load testing. The fault count of the model against the stresses of users ...

Designing a Volunteer Geographic Information-based service for rapid earth quake damages estimation Introduction The advent of Web 2.0 enables the users to interact and prepare free unlimited real time data. This advantage leads us to exploit Volunteer Geographic Information (VGI) for real time crisis management. Traditional estimation methods for earthquake damages are expensive and tim...
متن کاملMaximizing Profit in an Autonomic Computing System: A Fuzzy Control approach
eCommerce is an area where an Autonomic Computing system could be very effectively deployed. The growth of eCommerce has created demand for services with financial incentives for service providers. Revenues accrue if the admitted requests are processed within the specified deadline and costs are incurred if the admitted requests are not processed within the deadline. The number of requests to b...

We present an architecture of a hosting system consisting of a set of hosted web services subject to QoS constraints, and a certain number of servers used to run user’s demand. The traffic is session-based, while provider and users agree on SLAs specifying the expected level of service performance such that the service provider is liable to compensate his/her customers if the level of performan...

We present Fatman, an enterprise-scale archival storage based on volunteer contribution resources from underutilized web servers, usually deployed on thousands of nodes with spare storage capacity. Fatman is specifically designed for enhancing the utilization of existing storage resources and cutting down the hardware purchase cost. Two major concerned issues of the system design are maximizing...
